A veteran banker with over 37 years of experience, Mr. Bhat began his career at Canara Bank in 1980 and rose through leadership positions encompassing priority sector lending, financial inclusion, and strategic business initiatives. Before joining FWWB, he was Managing Director of Ananya Finance for Inclusive Growth Pvt. Ltd., where he successfully stabilized and expanded operations, achieving a fourfold increase in business and profitability while staying true to its social impact mission. During his distinguished tenure at Canara Bank, he served as Chief General Manager and Country Head of the Priority Sector and Financial Inclusion Wing, where he strengthened portfolios in agriculture, affordable housing, education loans, and MSME lending, and consistently met regulatory mandates. Mr. Bhat also provided strategic direction as an advisor on inclusive development initiatives and led key regional, zonal, and functional roles, including heading sub-committees on agriculture, rural development, and educational loans.
He serves on the boards of MYRADA and Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services, and is a member of the Management Committee of the Government of India's Educational Loan Guarantee Scheme. Mr. Bhat holds a postgraduate degree in Agricultural Science, is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), and has completed advanced Programmes in project planning and management at the University of Bradford (UK), as well as executive education at Kellogg School of Management (USA), Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Germany), and APRACA (Philippines). He has been recognized with the Aryabhata International Award for Excellence in Banking for his contributions to the financial sector.

Over her more than 20-year journey with FWWB, Ms. Kansara has played an instrumental role in conceptualizing and scaling multi-state Programmes focused on women's empowerment, livelihoods, and micro-entrepreneurship development, directly benefiting tens of thousands of women. She has overseen institutional capacity-building initiatives that supported the design and implementation of tailored interventions for over 75 emerging microfinance institutions and Farmer Producer Organizations. Her portfolio also includes managing strategic networking, fundraising, and strengthening long-term relationships with Indian and international donors and philanthropic foundations, helping secure resources and influence for sustainable impact.
Ms. Kansara holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in finance, and began her professional career in the financial sector with Citibank, where she gained foundational experience that informs her leadership in financial inclusion and development finance. Prior to her current role, she progressed through progressively senior positions at FWWB - from Programme Officer to Programme Consultant, and later Programme Head of Capacity Building - reflecting her deep sector expertise and commitment to women-led development.

She has worked extensively with more than 7000 nano and micro women entrepreneurs in the underserved valley and hilly regions of Manipur, Nagaland, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat by providing capacity-building inputs on financial literacy, business management skills, enterprise development, digital literacy, and business technical assistance by leading a team of master trainers. She also delivers training and conducts seminars and workshops to build the capacities of grass root partners and community-based institutions. She is experienced in conducting impact evaluation, scoping studies, and social research in the entrepreneurship space. Over the past 18 years, he has been at the helm of several large-scale rural livelihood and financial inclusion Programmes in collaboration with international donors such as Louis Dreyfus Foundation, Hivos, USC-Canada, and FAO, as well as national donors such as the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) under the Ministry of Rural Development and NABARD. These initiatives have collectively reached over 22,000 farm families, fostering sustainable agriculture practices, improving food and nutritional security, and integrating digital economy solutions like doorstep banking.
At FWWB India, he plays a key role in conceptualising and leading rural livelihood and financial inclusion initiatives will incorporate in FWWB India's vision of enabling economic self-reliance among women from low-income households.
His areas of expertise span project conceptualisation, proposal development, strategic planning, systems thinking, and team and financial management will support the mission of FWWB.
