REVOLVING LOAN FUND PROGRAMME

Revolving Loan Fund was evolved in response to growing needs of small savings groups, to encourage to build their own resource base, develop fund management skill and provide fund support for undertaking sustainable employment generating activities aimed towards asset formation and increasing the income levels of poor women. NGO’s, Federations of SHG’s, Co-operatives and women’s groups belonging to the FWWB network can raise loans from this fund and extend credit support to their members, where the supporting NGO’s also assume the responsibility of ensuring repayment.

In the year 2006, FWWB’s loans have reached out to 217214 women borrowers through its 79 partner organizations, an increase of 31000 women borrowers as compared to the previous year. Expanding its micro credit programme by entering newer states it has been able to reach out 12 states of India with an ongoing outstanding of 598 loans. The loan amount disbursed during the year was Rs. 70.60 Crores and the amount outstanding stands at Rs.67 Crores.

The utilization pattern of loans shows that majority of FWWB’s loans were utilized towards Agriculture and Animal husbandry (55%), utilization for Working Capital (44%) and Infrastructure (1%).

Statewise, FWWB has expanded its operations in newer states like Jharkhand, Assam and Orissa. The outstanding portfolio has not changed much as compared to the last year. Andhra pradesh still retains the top position with 46% of total outstanding portfolio that is followed by Tamil Nadu 19% Karnataka at 10% and other states 25%.
